MIAST (Member of the Institute for Architectural Science and Technology) is a professional recognition awarded to façade practitioners who demonstrate proven competence and ongoing commitment to professional development.
 MIAST is open to current IAST Façade Intelligence Professional (FI PRO) Members who meet the eligibility criteria below. FI PRO Membership gives candidates access to the professional development resources and assessments required to achieve MIAST.
 Recipients of the MIAST credential demonstrate: • Façade design and engineering knowledge, verified through recognised IAST assessments and qualifications. • Applied understanding of façade systems, performance principles, and delivery requirements. • Ongoing continuing professional development (CPD) through structured learning activities with knowledge assessments. • Practical application of façade expertise on real-world projects. • Commitment to recognised professional standards within the façade sector. • Professional credibility with clients, contractors, specifiers, insurers and regulators.
 Applications are verified against IAST records before the credential is awarded. It is not a technical check, review, certification or approval of any design, calculation, product, service or piece of work, and must not be relied upon as such. Current membership can be verified via the IAST member register or by email to admin@iast.uk. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) — Complete 12+ hours of structured CPD per membership year, including a knowledge check (seminars, courses, workshops, webinars, or IAST learning activities). Satisfied automatically by completing an IAST Learning Programme. CPD from other recognised providers may be accepted at IAST discretion.
